Puppy 1 and Puppy 2

Puppy 1

For puppies 12-18 weeks old. $170 for 6 weekly 50 minute sessions.

Puppy I is so much fun and hugely educational! Classes focus on puppy biting, socialization with other dogs and people, calming and handling, attention, basic obedience skills (come, sit, down, stand, stay, heel and walk on leash) and household manners (crate training, toilet training and chew toy training).

Puppy 1 will teach you how to use food in training without it becoming a bribe so that your puppy responds reliably whether you have food or not. Learn how to improve your puppy’s focus, speed of recall and length of stays off-leash, at a distance and when distracted.

Learn how to introduce your puppy to people, places, dogs and new situations so that they thoroughly enjoy the company of all kinds of folks, especially children, men and strangers.

Learn how to teach your puppy to play Fetch and Tug and to use these games as rewards in training.

Vaccine: First two rounds of DHLPP or DHPP. The second round must have been administered after 8 weeks of age, but at least 7 days prior to the first session of class.

Age: 12-18 weeks of age at the start date of class.

Length: This class is $170 for six consecutive weekly sessions, unless a break is mentioned. Each session is approximately 50  minutes and will meet on the same day and time each week.

Puppy 2

Early puppy training is as easy as it is enjoyable. Much more challenging though, is to ensure that your puppy maintains bite inhibition, remains socialized and friendly to other dogs and people, and continues to pay heed to your instructions while working through adolescence. Training focuses on proofing verbal control without the need for food lures. Exercises include distance sits in play (for the home, yard, dog parks and off-leash walks), settle down, rock-solid stays, and both off-leash and on-leash walking and heeling. Puppy 2 will help you teach your adolescent pup to be calm, attentive and responsive and to respond quickly, willingly and happily, especially when distracted, off-leash, and at a distance.

Registration Fee: $170 for 6 Weeks When purchased as part of The Complete Puppy Training Course there is a $50 savings if your dog is enrolled in Puppy Kindergarten.

Pre-requisite: Puppies must have graduated from the Puppy I class. Puppy II must be taken within at least 4 months of completing your Puppy I class.

Vaccine: Proof of rabies vaccine or up-to-date vaccination is required. Please note: some locations may have the additional vaccine requirement for Bordetella.

This class is six consecutive sessions unless a break is mentioned. Each session is approximately 50 minutes per week. Each session will meet on the same day and time each week. I require a minimum of 4 dogs to run a class.

The Complete Puppy Course:

If your puppy is under 12 weeks old, it is highly recommend that you take Puppy Kindergarten before Puppy 1. It is not required but it will provide you with best puppy training experience possible, especially if you follow Puppy 1 with Puppy 2.
